Payitoff partners with banks, financial wellness providers and financial institutions to make it easy for you to find and enroll in a federal assistance program to reduce your payments.

  • Payitoff is a fintech company specializing in debt repayment strategies. We partner with a range of financial entities, including banks, lending institutions, and financial wellness organizations, to deliver customized solutions for managing and reducing your debt burden. Our services are particularly focused on student loans, where we offer specialized tools and expert advice to help borrowers effectively handle the challenges of resuming federal student loan payments. Our goal is to guide you towards the most beneficial financial decisions for your unique debt situation.

  • Signing up is quick and easy, taking only a few minutes to link your servicer account. If you encounter any difficulties, our support team is readily available via our chat feature or at help@payitoff.io to assist you every step of the way.

  • To begin, you'll need your loan servicer login credentials, details about your income, and basic family information. This enables us to access and analyze your student loan portfolio comprehensively while ensuring the highest level of security for your personal information.

  • Changes in loan servicers are common, but we've got you covered:

I can’t log in because I don’t know my servicer:

If you're unsure of your servicer, our 'Find My Servicer' tool can assist you. Just provide your phone number, date of birth, and zip code, and we'll help you identify and link your account.

I know my servicer but I can’t log in:

If you know your servicer but can't access it, try the 'Forgot Password' option which leads you to their website to reset your password, then return to the Payitoff-powered experience to proceed .

  • Once you've provided the necessary information, we complete and submit your repayment plan application. The enrollment process usually takes about two weeks, after which we'll confirm the success of your enrollment.

  • The new plan typically takes effect within two weeks of submission. Setting up autopay with your servicer is recommended to ensure timely payments under your new plan.

  • For applications submitted via Payitoff, you'll receive a link to your personal dashboard to track the status. If you applied through a financial institution or app, please contact them for updates. For any assistance, our team at help@payitoff.io is always ready to help.

  • Be aware that, under current law, forgiven loan amounts after 2025 are subject to taxation. Taxes on forgiven loans are due the year after forgiveness. We'll inform you about potential tax implications when you select a new plan.

Right now, the current waiving of tax bills is temporary and these benefits are due to expire after 2025.

  • Here is an overview of the steps you take to explore your options and enroll in a new repayment plan:

    1. Log in/find your loan servicer(s)

    2. Enter personal details like marital status, income, and dependents

    3. Explore and select a suitable repayment plan

    4. Submit income verification documents if necessary

    5. Confirm and process your application

At any stage of the process if you have questions, reach out to us at help@payitoff.io so we can provide the support you need.

  • The Education Department is withholding payments from Aidvantage, EdFinancial and Nelnet for breaching the companies’ contractual obligations to send statements to borrowers in October 2023.

The Education Department directed Aidvantage, EdFinancial and Nelnet to place affected borrowers into Administrative Forbearance until the issues are resolved.

This means borrowers do not owe payments on their loans OR accrue interest.

If you have any questions how this affects your enrollment, please reach out to help@payitoff.io.

  • For eligibility details regarding the SAVE plan, refer to the student aid website: Student Aid - SAVE Plan Eligibility.

  • Nelnet's frequent changes to their website have led to intermittent linking issues for some borrowers. If you see the "connection broken" status on your dashboard, please attempt to re-link. If you need any more help you can always reach out to us at help@payitoff.io. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by re-linking issues you may have encountered as a result of Nelnet updates.

  • Since payments resumed, we have seen longer than usual wait times for enrollments to be approved by servicers. We have found that it can be helpful to sign in to your servicer's website after two weeks or so, to check if there is any communication in your servicer inbox. If you need any more help you can always reach out to us at help@payitoff.io.
